Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe we're going to be showing you how to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Trailer Brake Controller. And we're going to be installing that in conjunction with the Curt 7-Way Trailer Wiring Plug as well as the Curt Adapter Plug and a Redarc Adapter Plug. But before we get into all that let's just take a couple minutes, check this out and make sure it's going to work for you. With these late model SUVs being more and more capable nowadays, people like to use them to do a little bit of towing and even some larger trailers. And it makes sense, you know, your still able to pull big enough trailer around and still have a vehicle that gets decent fuel mileage and things like that. more

Today on our 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe we're gonna be showing you how to install the REDARC Tow-Pro Liberty Trailer Brake Controller with the Universal Wiring Harness and we're gonna be installing that in conjunction with the Curt Custom-Fit Seven-Way Plug, as well as the Curt Trailer Brake Controller Adapter. Before we get into that though, let's just take a couple of minutes check this out and make sure it's gonna be right for you. With the SLT model SUVs being more and more capable nowadays, people like to use 'em to do a little bit of towing and even some larger trailers and it makes sense, you know, you said only to pull big enough trailer around and still have a vehicle that gets decent fuel mileage and things like that and so with that said, if your trailer has brakes on it, whether they're electric brakes or even electric over hydraulic, you're gonna need a way to apply 'em and that's where this brake controller is gonna come into play. Whenever you hit the brakes inside of your Santa Fe, this is gonna send power back to the trailer brakes helping to bring you to a more predictable and safe stop. Speaker 1: Today, on our 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe, we're going to be taking a look at showing you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller, part number 90195. To help with inaudible 00:00:12 installation, we're going to be using the universal installation kit for trailer break controllers, part number ETBC7.So, here's what our P3's going to look like once it's installed. Now, this is going to be a proportional brake controller, which means it's going to apply the brakes to our trailer in the same intensity, and time that apply them in our towed vehicle. So, if we ease in to a stop, our trailer brakes are going to come on very light. But if we come to a panicked stop, our trailer brakes are going to apply just as quickly as we apply them in our car. Our P3s going to be able to handle trailers anywhere from one all the way up to four axles. more

Now, the reason you're going to want a brake controller such as this one is because if you're towing a trailer that has electric brakes, you need to have a way for them to operate. This will allow them to function properly.Now, being a proportional brake controller, this is going to give us the smooth and reliable stops that we're looking for. It's going to apply the brakes on the trailer in a similar manner to how the brakes are being applied in our vehicle. Compared to a time delay brake controller where there is a delay with the brakes being applied with the brakes being applied in the vehicle. more

Today, on our 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe, we'll be taking a look at and installing the Tekonsha PowerTrac electronic braking control system, Part #39523, with assistance from from ourETBC7 wiring harness, part#ETBC7. Here's what it's going to look like once it's installed. Let's go ahead and plug in our trailer to see the green light on the side turn on. This will indicate that our trailer is plugged in, and then when we remove our trailer, or unplug it, you'll see that light turns off. Once again, we'll bring it in, and leave it connected, while we talk about the gain button that's here on the left. You'll have a little wheel that goes up to increase the gain, or down, depending on which way you mount your box. more

All right, today, on this 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited, we are going to install part number 90195. This is Tekonsha Prodigy p3 trailer brake controller. Now to help us with our install, we will also be using part number ETBC7. We are going to start off by making access from the inside to the outside. We will go ahead and drill a pilot hole first on the fire wall from the inside. We will drill a 1/4" pilot hole, now go ahead and use our hole saw, it doesn't really matter what size, just enough to get us some working room so we don't tear up the carpet as much. Now we will be using a step bit to enlarge our hole. We've got our hole drilled out, we will go ahead and mount our circuit breakers. more
